What started as a passion for skateboarding quickly developed into a passion for filmmaking. I began shooting and editing my own skateboarding videos at the age of eleven and was hooked on day one. I became enthralled in the process and spent every waking moment developing my craft. By day, I was filming skateboarding tricks. By night, I was video editing.
Thanks to my years of producing skateboarding videos, I was able to apply my technical filmmaking skills to my work and began producing content professionally. I gained experience working on various projects for businesses, non-profits, weddings, music videos, and films. Throughout all my work experience, I began to identify repetitive workflows and began to think of solutions to speed up these processes. This inspired me to learn the skills necessary to automate these tasks, so I took the leap of faith and enrolled in community college to begin my academic journey.
While at community college, I discovered my love for numbers and the power in understanding the concepts that drive their powerful applications. After working very hard at community college, I earned my way into Texas A&M’s College of Engineering. After two years at Texas A&M, I became certain of my career ambition to work in the Animation and VFX industry. Taking advantage of my dual-citizenship (USA and New Zealand), I transferred universities to Victoria University of Wellington to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Computer Graphics, with a Minor in Animation and VFX. I continued my education straight into Victoria University of Wellington's Master of Design Technology degree at the Miramar Creative Centre, where I learned in depth knowledge about the animation and VFX process. I graduate this May (2025) and am looking forward to continue collaborating with other passionate visual storytellers in the future.
